In the last week our team have been subjected to an unacceptable level of abuse, threats, and criminal damage, which has had a major impact on their mental health and well-being. This situation not only affected the individual in the video but the entire team and their families. Recovering from this experience is going to be challenging for everyone.
The staff are now too scared to come back to work, with one member is going through a mental health crisis due to people’s online behaviour.
The member of staff who uploaded the video after been let go from the company made it very clear, along with her partner, that they intended to harm the business.
However, we firmly believe that posting the video was entirely uncalled for and unnecessary, especially considering she knew we were in the middle of dealing with the situation. By uploading the video, she added to an already difficult situation without considering how it would affect the rest of the team who were not involved, or how it could impact their jobs. While we cannot speak on their behalf, we hope that they did not anticipate or desire the events that have since unfolded. This is a distressing situation with far-reaching consequences.
We are grateful for the support we have received from our customers, who have seen through the untruths. Their unwavering support has been a tremendous source of comfort during these challenging times.
The well-being, safety, and mental health of our staff are of the utmost importance to us, and that is the reason we have made the decision to close our business. This was not an easy decision, but under these circumstances, it has become necessary.
